A counter-led Japanese restaurant in Vancouver where a single, sculpted serving counter becomes the architecture.
Otitori is built around the choreography of the chef. A continuous slab forms the serving counter, drawing diners into the rhythm of preparation while keeping the back-of-house quietly out of view.
The room reads as a single composed gesture — warm timber, soft amber lighting, and tightly detailed millwork that frames every seat with a deliberate sightline to the work surface.
Materials lean into the warmth of the kitchen: charred timber, hand-patinated metal, and ochre walls that absorb the low-amber lighting after dusk.
